The Aitkin County Soil & Water Conservation District (SWCD) has a tree planter available for use on a first come basis. A $100 deposit is required. This deposit is refundable when the tree planter is returned in acceptable condition. A $30/day fee for use of the planter is required.
The 3-point mounted tree planter needs a minimum of a 40 hp tractor, depending on the soil type / condition. The planter has a removable hitch and wheels for transport behind a pickup.
The planter is most often used for planting tree quantities greater than 500.
